- On its journey, your order is likely to have been on several trucks and transferred between terminals before reaching your destination. We deal with carriers having less than 1% transit damage statistic but sometimes accidents happens. We recommend our customers to purchase additional panels to ensure the safe delivery of the required number. Avoid purchasing the exact number of panels needed.
- When receiving the order, it is your responsibility to visually inspect the pallet for any damages prior to signing your delivery receipt. Do not return the shipment. You will need to lean the pallet against a solid wall for uncrating, before you cut the green straps. Take many pictures, this will be useful should you have a claim. Freight companies may not send adjusters for a small claim and are likely to rely on your pictures for quick settlement.
- Any damages found without notation upon delivery can be refused by trucking company. Please make sure you note the damage or breakage on the Driver’s Copy of the Delivery Receipt.
- Many carriers use tablets for tracking and paperless documentation. Ask for a copy of the delivery receipt with your annotations to be sent to your email address, otherwise it will be most difficult to complete a claim for damage with the freight company. Finally, freight companies require a claim for damage to be filed within 48 hours of delivery, so don’t just leave the pallet there, do a prompt inspection, this will save you time and money 🙂
